OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training Dates and Locations: Fee: $255.00 Participants will learn how nine major provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) can be implemented in the workplace. Topics include common violations; inspections, citations and penalties; walking and working surfaces; means of egress and fire protection;
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Training Dates and Locations: Fee: $255.00 This course covers construction safety and health principles and OSHA policies, procedures, and construction industry standards. Special emphasis is placed on the most hazardous areas using OSHA standards as a guide. This course is taught by an OSHA-authorized instructor. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a card from OSHA certifying completion of the course.
OSHA Control of Hazardous Energy Regulations (Lockout/Tagout) - 2hrs OSHA's Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) Standard 29 CFR 1910.147 requires employers to establish a program for energy control procedures. Topics include requirements of the Control of Hazardous Energy standard, physical locks and tags, safe lockout procedures, and training requirements. Assistance with developing a written Hazardous Energy Control Plan is given.
OSHA Fall Protection - 2 hrs Slips, trips, and falls constitute the majority of general industry accidents and cause 15% of all accidental deaths (second only to automobile accidents). Topics will include OSHA requirements under 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M, housekeeping, floor and wall openings, stairways and stairway railings, ladders and scaffolds, fall arrest systems and limitations of safety equipment, controlled access zones, and fall protection plans.
OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements - 3 hrs OSHA regulations require all employers to document employee training and to keep records of employee injuries and illnesses. Topics are the revised standard for Occupational Injury and Illness documentation, Material Safety Data Sheets, training documentation, and OSHA posters and other required postings. Record location, retention, and maintenance will also be covered. Participants will receive and learn how to use a self-audit checklist. This class is for human resource managers, safety managers, and those responsible for OSHA compliance. OSHA Regulations for Office Personnel - 2 hrs Learn to recognize and prevent accidents and injuries in your office. Topics include general safety and OSHA regulations, video display terminal (computer) safety, fire prevention, cumulative trauma injuries, and other safety-related factors. Course is applicable to office workers, managers, and safety coordinators.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - 3 hrs
Principles of Ergonomics - 4 hrs This course covers the use of ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Topics include physiology; anthropometry; video display terminals; and risk factors such as vibration, temperature, material handling, repetition, and lifting. Job hazard analysis and design of work stations and equipment will be key features of this program. Employer responsibility under General Duty 5(a)(1) of the proposed Ergonomic Standard will be discussed.
Walking and Working Surfaces - 2 hrs Slips, trips, and falls are the top contributors to injuries in general industry. These incidents are responsible for 15% of all accidental deaths (second only to automobile accidents). Topics in this course will include OSHA requirements under 29 CFR 1920 Subpart D, housekeeping, floor and wall openings, stairways and stairway railings, ladders and scaffolds, controlled access zones, and an overview of fall arrest systems and the limitations of the equipment.
When OSHA Comes Calling - 2 hrs When the OSHA inspector arrives, an employer has certain rights and responsibilities. Learn what you as an employer can do to be prepared for an inspection, what the inspection involves, how to respond to questions, what records need to be readily available, what the most common citations are and how they are connected, and what you can do if OSHA issues a citation.
Workplace Violence Awareness - 2 hrs This course is an overview of the behaviors, situations, and possible solutions relating to violence in the workplace. Participants will receive information on program development, risk assessment, hazard recognition, incident prevention, recordkeeping, and program evaluation. This course can be tailored to the retail, service, and transportation industries.
Construction Safety 30 Hour Course Dates and Locations: Fee: $500.00 This course is the prerequisite to the OTI 500 course. It will cover OSHA policies, procedures, and standards for the construction industry as well as safety and health principles. Each section of the OSHA Construction Standards will be covered. Special emphasis will be placed on those areas that are more hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. OSHA’s 29 CFR 1926 Construction Safety Standard will be provided. Bloodborne Pathogens The purpose of this course is to develop a Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Plan for healthcare facilities using a step-by-step approach. Featured topics include an Introduction to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, the Exposure Control Plan, Exposure Determination, Methods of Control, Vaccinations and Evaluations, Training and Information, and Record Keeping. Attendees will receive certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Introduction to Machines and Machine Guarding The main focus of this course is to increase the participant’s knowledge and skill in proper machine safeguarding techniques, and to highlight the benefits of guarding various types of machinery. It is the employer’s responsibility to identify and select the safeguard necessary to protect employees and others in the work area, as well as provide appropriate training in safe work practices. Knowing when and how to properly safeguard machinery can reduce or eliminate the potential for accidents and injuries.
RCRA Awareness Training - 3 hrs This RCRA compliance course is designed for large and small quantity generators and may satisfy both initial and annual refresher training requirements as specified in 40 CFR 265.16. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) requires that facility personnel be trained to "perform their duties in a way that ensures the facility's compliance" with hazardous waste regulations. This course includes a regulatory overview; how to identify RCRA solid wastes, managing hazardous waste containers, waste storage requirements, manifest preparation and recordkeeping, and worker protection.
Accident Investigation Proactive safety – the aggressive pursuit of zero accidents – relies not only on knowledge of safe work principles and practices, but also on a positive attitude toward safety among all employees and managers. Topics include hazard recognition and classification, ergonomic hazards, accident investigation, performing safety audits, personal responsibility for safe work practices, and developing a positive attitude toward safety that results in a readiness to respond effectively when a dangerous situation arises. A Safety Audit Checklist will be provided to participants.
Hazard Communication Standard / Right-to-Know - 3 hrs OSHA’s Hazard communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.120 requires employers to develop a written Hazard Communication Program for their employees and to inform and train employees. This course provides an overview of the standard, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), collection and retention, proper storage procedures, labeling and placarding systems, employee training and documentation.
Introduction to OSHA - 4 hrs Fee: FREE This course is for persons with little or no knowledge of OSHA regulations but who need this information because of their job responsibilities. Participants will be led step-by-step through the Code of Federal Regulations (29 CFR 1910). An explanation of the main standards and their application will be given.
Machine Guarding Safety Machine Guarding is one of the most violated OSHA standards. This course emphasizes the consequences of removing or disabling machine guards; guard classifications and how they work including enclosure, interlocking, and disabling guards; and an overview of lockout/tagout requirements.
Atmospheric Hazards and Air Sampling Air sampling techniques and instrumentation are facets of hazmat emergency response that are chronically misunderstood and misapplied in the field.
