Safety and Environmental TrainingThe Continuing Education, Safety & Environmental Program was established in 1988 to provide environmental health and safety education and training throughout the state of Mississippi and the South Eastern Region. The purpose of the program is to promote worker protection and the maintenance of a clean and safe environment through education and training.

Occupational safety and environmental programs range from on-campus seminars and conferences to in-house consultation services and are made available to state and regional businesses, industries, governmental agencies, municipalities and defense facilities who must comply with various EPA, OSHA, DOT and other regulations.

The Division's Safety and Environmental Program has been designated by the Mississippi legislature to be the training provider within the state for all professional certifications in the field of asbestos abatement and management. A full range of asbestos certification training is provided in all disciplines identified by Mississippi regulations and all of these courses are fully approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.

CEUs Available

The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of measure for non-credit continuing education programs. It is used to document learning that differs from the traditional academic learning experience and has become vital as a means of determining the value of a learning experience in continuing education and training.
